A little bit about myself

I'm a photographer based in Oxford (UK), where I share a small house with my wife Jess, and our dog Clover. I work with a lot of photography in my day job as a graphic designer - mostly digital, and so it's nice to then spend time away from the computer screen; in my case that time is usually spent photographing, developing film and printing in my darkroom.

What I do

I really enjoy the tactile qualities of film photography. Before deciding to shoot film again a few years back, I was taking pictures exclusively on digital. Working with digital I found that when I returned from a photo shoot, a day out or a holiday I had in some instances literally thousands of pictures to sift through. I found myself longing for the simplicity of taking the perfect shot, first time. I turned to film photography to not only escape sitting in front of a screen all day, but to become immersed in the process of creating an image. Before long I knew this was where I wanted to apply my creative focus. When Covid19 first hit, and I had some time on my hands, I built a darkroom and started to adopt an entirely analogue workflow, from image capture all the way to final print.

Other stuff

Along with predominantly black and white, medium format film photography, I also work with Polaroid, as you’ll see from my Polaroid section. Thanks for visiting my site and hope you enjoy the work that I do. Prints are available to purchase from my shop.
